First Break Outside of Canoes / Needs overhead size to show / Easy riding lefts and rights for longboards / Summer S swells

This is the surf break seen from the Papa’ena’ena heiau that was where La Pietra (Hawai'i School for Girls) stands today. The heiau was dedicated to the surf and those who rode the waves at Kalahuewehe, a main surf in Waikiki. First Break began the Kalahuewehe course, which has been famous for hundreds of years. Kahuna at Papa’ena’ena flew a kite at the heiau to signal to surfers that the waves were up.
