Walls is the safest family beach in Hawai'i for active fun. It is not very good for bodysurfing unless the waves are 4 ft plus. But it is great for bodyboarding. It's a summer break and popular with tons of local kids. On any given day - even when there is small surf - the mix of locals and tourists is about 40 - 60. A perfect blend of kamaaina and malihini. You should caution that the inshore reef is in shallow water and people should wear fins or some kind of foot cover. (Peter Apo) |
